F1 2020 has some very interesting and engaging racing, it’s a rather thorough sim, which all makes it pretty hard for newer players. There are some helpful tools in the game to help the more casual fans get used to the intense racing action. With the various assists in F1 2020, players can get all the help they need. Codemasters also included a new Casual Control mode to make the game more arcade. The standard control options can also be chosen and augmented with various assistance features as well.
You will likely have to spend some time getting used to the game regardless of what options you choose though. This is a must to really enjoy the game, as you need to find the control scheme that works for you. When going into the options menu via the pause screen, you will be confronted with a variety of different options to choose from in the Assists section. You can tweak settings for both casual and standard control setups within this menu.
The one downside is that you can only make these changes during a few areas. If you’re playing the Career and My Team modes, you have to back out to the main menu to confirm control changes. It’s kind of annoying, but it is what it is.
There is one other option for tweaking assists in F1 2020. You can also change these when on the loading screen for a race, or even during the race itself. Press Start, then go into the Options menu and select Preferences and you can change some settings if you need to. This is useful in the setup for a Grand Prix or other race if you need to tweak something that you don’t like.
