How to Sell Players in Football Manager 2021

Football Manager 2022

Football Manager 2021 has a lot of minutiae to handle. Managing a growing and developing football team is no easy task. With the improvements players got in this new version, a refinement of the player management system was key. Getting and keeping good players is balancing act that you need to keep tabs on. When you want to sell players in Football Manager 2021, here’s what you want to do.

Generating interest is key. Unless there is already active interest in the player you are planning to offload, you will need to try and let teams know you want to sell. When you click on a player in the roster, you can see if any club is interested by looking for the green marker on their profile. Any teams listed with the “Wnt” icon are interested in buying that player.

How to Sell Players in Football Manager 2021

To sell players in Football Manager 2021, you need to put them on a transfer. When there’s a player you want to be rid of, you need to go into the team management menu. You can choose to Transfer the player, then put in a Sell order, or Offer to Clubs. Selling a player directly means you sell the player and their existing contract to another club. The clubs then choose to accept the offer, and may counter it with a lower price. If you start too high on your buyout price, they may reject it outright, so be careful.

Offer to Clubs is a bit more complex. When you pick this option, you’re offering to transfer the player to that team that puts in the offer. The more interested a team is, the more likely they wil pay a high transfer fee. If you want to let the player hang out there on the market, use the option to set the player as a Surplus on your roster. During that time, spend some effort on media interviews to garner interest.

Once bids have come in, it’s time to review. YOu will likely get a few offers on most players. And the outcome of the sale will depend a bit on your relationship with the player. If you have a good rapport with them, they might be more likely to accept that the team doesn’t need them anymore. The player will then have to negotiate with their new team to get a new contract.

The deal can fall through during this time, and there’s not much you can really do about it. You can try accepting a lower offer, but the player might not go for it. If that doesn’t work, you may have to cut them or abandon the idea of getting them out of the roster.
