Stardew Valley 1.5 is out. With the update, comes the new zone of Ginger Island. On this island players will find exotic locales, including a freaking volcano, which hide all-new secrets to uncover. On Ginger Island, there is a currency called Golden Walnuts which you will need for various tasks. One such task is freeing Professor Snail in Stardew Valley. To do this is actually a multi-step process, so pay attention.
You first need to find the Professor’s tent. It’s past the volcano zone, so feel free to take your time and explore a little bit. You will eventually find his tent after you unlock the area surrounding Ginger Island’s main hub. Once you do, you will find a broken bridge and a parrot called Birdie. Pay the 10 walnuts to the parrot over the bridge to begin the repairs. Once those are done, you can progress.
Across the bridge, there is a set of stairs leading upwards, next to that is a small collection of boulders set into the wall. There will appear to be someone trapped behind them, You can try to break it down with a normal weapon but it won’t work. You need to use a bomb to break down the rocks. You may want to visit the vendor inside the new volcano zone in Stardew Valley 1.5 to see if you can get any Mega Bombs. You will find the vendor on the fifth level of the volcano area. You need to buy at least one Mega Bomb at a rate of 1,000 G.
So after you’re on Ginger Island and have the Mega Bombs, it’s time to free Professor Snail in Stardew Valley. Walk over the newly repaired bridge and drop the lit bomb in front of the boulders. This will blow them away and you will have freed the new NPC. He will then make his way to Stardew Valley and you can donate new fossils and other items to him at the museum.
