How to Repair Clothes in Project Zomboid

The zombie sim, Project Zomboid might seem like a simple isometric adventure, I promise it’s much more than just a basic zombie game. Players must explore a randomized map dodging and fighting back zombie hordes, all while fighting for survival. The game has both singleplayer and multiplayer modes, and the building and survival aspects are core to both.

And as you adventure around, you’re going to need clothes. Unfortunately, the game often loves to rip those clothes to shreds. And sometimes, you will want to repair them. Lucky for you that there’s an easy way to repair clothes in Project Zomboid.

How to Repair Clothes in Project Zomboid

There are a couple of things you need to get your hands on to do this. In order to repair your clothes in Project Zomboid, you are first going to have to find a needle and some thread. This will then be used to sew the patches in place. You then need to harvest patches. Denim Strips will be the easiest thing to use to repair clothes in Project Zomboid. The thing is, you need to find Denim clothing items and cut up with a pair of scissors.

In order to get leather strips and denim strips, you will first have to find a pair of scissors and then use it to cut up jackets, pants and other items. So you need some Scissors, Thread and Needles for any clothes you wish to fix.

Once you have all the items required, you can repair your clothing by following these steps:

  1. Right-click the piece of clothing you want to repair.
  2. Select the option Inspect. You will then get a menu for the item itself.
  3. You will see the text ‘-Hole’ on the damaged part of the clothing, right-click that.
  4. Select Patch Hole and choose the type of material you wish to use.

You can also use Leather Strips to get your hands on a few crafting items and other recipes. You can choose between leather and denim strips to repair your clothing items.

As you repair clothing, the Tailoring skill will increase. The complexity of each repair may require better skills in this area. You could also hunt down some skill books for Tailoring like Tailoring for Beginners to get your skills up. The better you are, the faster you also finish clothing repairs. And like most skills there will be new recipes unlocked.
