How to play as Impa in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

play as impa in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

With the launch of a new demo for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Nintendo has caused a stir among fans. The fans of the franchise as a whole are excited about a new game. Genre fans looking for more brawling action are also eagerly waiting to get their hands on it. And since it’s a free demo, people have already been able to dig into it and find out some secrets.

A convention of the genre is unlockable characters, and it’s no different for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. One of the retuning unlockable characters, as revealed in the demo, is Impa. To play as Impa it’s actually very simple, you just need to do a few simple tasks. Impa is the first playable side character so it makes sense she would be easy to get.

The demo is a set battle scene, so unlocking her basically means playing through the tutorial. When playing through a battle, you encounter various enemy types, one being the massive Moblins. Take control of Link after you fight your way through the intro. From there, head south toward the enemy forts. Each of the three forts on the southern end of the demo map has a Moblin in it. You’ll know you’re headed the right way when you see the yellow waypoints on your map.

Defeat each of the forts at these markers, including the Moblins, and you should be able to unlock Impa. You will get a short cutscene after each one that teases Impa to know you did it right. Trick is, there are other enemies standing in your way. After beating two of the Moblins, a Fire Wizzrobe shows up to mess with you.

The intro cutscene should unlock real-time character switching. In the demo so far, the ability to play as both Impa and Link can be unlocked. It’s expected that the full game will have many more options. Just swap between characters at any time by pressing up or down on the D-pad.
