How to make scrolls in V Rising

V Rising Guides

V Rising being a crafting-focused game, of course there’s farming too. You may be a powerful vampire trying to expand their territory, but you can’t do everything on your own. You need to recruit Servants to take care of missions for you. Players also need to hunt down rare and common resources for crafting, such as Gem stones and dust, or maybe Sulfur. That all is just the early game though, there’s so much more.

As you unlock more advanced technology and recipes, the requirements start to jump a lot. There’s a way around this problem of increasing costs, but it can take some work to get. Scrolls in V Rising are often used to research new techs, but they have other uses as well. They are much more efficient in terms of research gain compared to Paper alone, so they eventually become pretty important.  Keep reading to figure out how you can get more of these useful tools.

How to unlock scrolls in V Rising

Like many other items and recipes in this game, you need to defeat a boss to get your hands on scrolls. To make Scrolls in V Rising, you will need to slay the level 56 V Blood, known as Frostmaw the Mountain Terror. Head to the northeast of the Farbane Woods, in the mountainous zone. Once you’ve beaten them, you can get your hands on the recipe via the research bench.

The other thing you need to prepare is a Study. This crafting bench can be made ahead of time, and then it just needs to be supplied with materials, and set to making a recipe.  You can craft a Study with 40 Paper, 40 Planks, 8 Copper Ingots, and 8 Grave Dust. You can get the Study by defeating Nicholaus the Fallen, who can be found in the Forgotten Cemetery of the Farbane Woods.

To get paper in V Rising, you will need to head to Bandit Camps and slay the NPCs in the area. You might get it as a drop from one of the enemies, but mainly you will be looking for the chests that spawn. You will then need to research the Paper Press as you have done through the Research Desk. The Planks and Ingots can be crafted at their associated bench, from the correct raw materials. The Grave Dust can be farmed from any undead enemies in the game, but also found from random containers in graveyard zones. The other way is that it can be made by putting Bones into a Grinder.

You will need plenty of Paper and Gem Dust, so that Grinder will come in handy for later—and obviously, the Paper Press will as well. Alternatively, build a Devourer and throw any valuable jewels into it – an expensive, if effective way of creating Gem Dust.

Crafting Scrolls

Any interested players can get V Rising Scrolls either by finding them on certain human enemies, or by crafting them. Go to any bandit camps or other locations with human enemies, and clear them out. You will sometimes get Scrolls as drops from either the enemies themselves, or the loot chests.

Once unlocked, Scrolls can be made at the Paper Press with 12x Gem Dust, and 4x Paper.

Other aspects of the game can help with your journey, like farming in V Rising and growing stuff from seeds. Seeds harvested from bosses can be used to grow unique items for crating intriguing new armor. Some of the best armor in the game is the Dark Silver gear, which is super powerful.
