Guide on how to make Charcoal in Minecraft

How to make a campfire in Minecraft

here are a bunch of different fuels you can use in this game. There are so many that it’s impossible to list them all, as you can basically burn anything. But some fuel works better than others. And instead of going and digging for Coal, there’s a much faster way to get started smelting and making stuff in Minecraft. Maybe you want to make some Fire Charges and spread some hot cheer around? Or maybe you need to get a ton of Auto Smelters built. For these and so many more projects, you will need Charcoal in Minecraft.

You won’t need anything more complex than some wood planks and a furnace. To make furnaces, just place eight cobblestone blocks place in a ring in the crafting table, leaving the center slot open. Break your wood logs into two stacks. One will become the charcoal, and the other can be crafted into wood planks. The reason we use wood planks as fuel and not logs is that each log can be crafted into four planks using any crafting grid. Planks have a fuel value only slight less than charcoal, so it’s a great fuel source for making the coal.

Once you have your furnace, and you have made all your planks, it’s time to get started. Place one stack of wood logs in the top slot of the Furnace, and the stack of planks in the bottom slot. The wood will burn, heating the other stack and producing Charcoal until one runs out. . You can even stack both your smelting material and fuel up to 64 units each, which allows you to produce charcoal in bulk.

This charcoal can then be used to power your furnace itself, and it has the same fuel power as normal coal. This makes it much more sustainable, as you can grow infinite trees to provide more wood.
