How to make Chains of Honor in Diablo 2: Resurrected

Make Chains of Honor in Diablo 2: Resurrected

There are many powerful items and skills in D2R. Some of them have very specific uses. And once you’ve finished your build, you might want to try farming for that ultimate item. There’s a concept called Magic Find that’s incredibly useful for this. And using this, you can get mountains of rare gear. Chains of Honor might be a somewhat specific chest armor, what with the bonus damage to Demons and Undead, but MF players love it. Why would you want this item? Simple, for the 25% increased magic find.

The Chains of Honor runeword in Diablo 2: Resurrected is ‘DolUmBerIst’. This means you need to add those rune words in that order. So start with a Dol word, then an Um, followed by Ber, and finish with Ist. The recipe to make Chains of Honor in Diablo 2: Resurrected is simple to know, but getting the Runes is another matter. It’s a good idea to bookmark our list of runes and runewords so that you can refer back to it later.

Before you ever think about making complex items via Runes, you need to be able to comfortable farm Hell and Nightmare difficulty bosses. Once you have the leveled-up character, you can begin farming. The first thing you need is four-socket body armor. You could try to add sockets to a new armor piece, or farm directly for four sockets. A lot of players try to farm for Gothic Armor from Act V, and that is a viable option. Once you have the armor, you need the Runes.

Rune How To Get
Ist
Countess: Hell
Hell Forge: Hell
Drop Chance: Act 5 (Nightmare)
Horadric Cube Recipe: 2 Mal + 1n Amethyst (Ladder Only)
Ber
Countess: N/A
Hell Forge: N/A
Drop Chance: Act 3 (Hell)
Horadric Cube Recipe: 2 Sur + 1 Flawless Amethyst (Ladder Only)
Um
Countess: Hell
Hell Forge: Nightmare and Hell
Drop Chance: Act 4 (Nightmare)
Horadric Cube Recipe: 2 Pul + 1 Flawed Diamond (Ladder Only)
Dol
Countess: Nightmare and above
Hell Forge: Nightmare
Drop Chance: Act 5
Horadric Cube Recipe: 3 Shael + 1 Chipped Ruby

As you’ll note from the list above, you must be in ladder play to get three of these from crafting recipes. That makes this a lot harder for casual players. You could farm the Countess and Hell Forge on higher difficulties for three of the four Runes. That makes it much easier. But it’s that Ber rune that gives players a lot of problems. Some people would suggest farming the Secret Cow Level for it instead of a certain boss.
