How to hang items from the ceiling in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ 2.0.0 update has added a bunch of new things. As a free update for all players, there’s tons of new stuff to mess around with. If you want to cook sweet convictions for your village, there are a few options for that. You could make something like carrot cake, if you want a nice treat. To get started with baking, you need sugar. Brown Sugar, just like its white counterpart, needs Sugarcane.

How to grow sugarcane in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

You don’t need to purchase the Happy Home Paradise DLC to grow sugar or any other food item, it’s part of the free 2.0.0 update. You do need to find Lief to get the cane plant starts, though, and that can take time.

If you’re having trouble finding some items, try spending some Bells at Harv’s new Co-op to get some new NPC shops for all kinds of stuff. He will see you Wheat plants for 280 Bells a pop when you put the money into his shop. It costs 700,000 to start the co-op and another 100,000 to get Lief going on the island. After a couple of days, just buy the sugarcane and get growing. Once you have your sugarcane starts ready to go, you can get growing.

Your first stop will be Nook’s Cranny. You need to make sure you have the basic recipes for cooking items. The Basic Cooking Recipes and the Be A Chef! recipes will give you both bundles of recipes. Now it’s time to get sweet and make mountains of brown sugar in Animal Crossing New Horizons.

Plant it in the ground like you would any other plant, watering once a day. Once it’s grown for a few days, you should be able to harvest a few units of sugarcane from the plant. You just need to plant and grow some Sugar Cane. Water your planted starts each day. After a few days you get 3 per fully grown plant. It takes 5 Cane to make a lump of brown sugar.
