How to make an Enchanting Table in Minecraft
Here’s what you need to make an enchanting table in Minecraft:
- 4x Obsidian
- 1x Book
- 1x Diamond
The obsidian can be mined from underground, or you can spawn a block of it by placing water over a lava source block. The books must be crafted from Sugar Cane, or can be found in Caverns. Diamonds can be found in various treasure boxes, or mined.
First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3×3 crafting grid on your screen. Now you need to add the required items to the crafting grid. place 1 book, 2 diamonds, and 4 obsidian in the 3×3 crafting grid.
It’s vital that you follow the image above and place the items as seen below. If it hasn’t loaded, the order goes:
- Three Obsidian along the bottom row
- One Obsidian in center slot
- Two Diamonds, one each, on the sides of the center Obsidian
- One Book on top of the center slot
To make use of the Enchantment Table, you need to surround it with books. There’s an upper limit, but surrounding the table with a two-block high stack of Bookshelves is key to unlocking the best enchants.
