How to make a bookshelf in ARK: Survival Evolved

ARK: Survival Evolved has a ton of different items to make buried within its crafting systems. Sure, there are bunches of weapons and traps used for hunting dinosaurs and other players. There are many different items that can be used for storage, sciences and other pursuits as well. And if you’re creative with placement, you can even craft some very interesting base layouts. The bookshelf in ARK: Survival Evolved is one such item.

While you can’t use this bookshelf for infinite storage, it is a nice addition to any fully built base. You can use it to keep your smaller belongings, notably blueprints, notes, recipes, and specimen implants. It is also fairly sturdy with 2,000 HP, so it can be rather hard to destroy for amateur trolls on the server.

You need three different resources to craft this particular furniture item, here are the three resources you need to make a bookshelf in ARK: Survival Evolved:

  • 100 Wood or a type of Fungal Wood
  • 45 Thatch
  • 35 Fiber

The bookshelf in ARK: Survival Evolved can be placed anywhere too, not just inside a structure. So if you want a more creative storage solution early in the game before you have a full base up, this is one of many options. If you’re the type of player who likes to sort their storage by type like me, having bookshelves for blueprints and other crafting materials fits thematically and also looks cool.

You can also combine the bookshelf with other elements as well, as it’s not just for beautification or basic storage. Players can bolt on a PIN lock to prevent players from taking anything inside without being authorized. To build that one you need 50 Metal Ingots or Scrap Metal Ingots, 45 Cementing Past or Achatina paste, and 35 Fiber. It also requires the upgrade S+ crafting station too, so it’s a it of work to get there, but it’s well worth it.
