Marvel’s Avengers has a pretty complicated setup process and grind, there’s no denying that. The process of jumping between hoops to play as a superhero is pretty complicated in this game, but it’s worth it. Players get to brawl baddies with their friends, and the developer/publisher get to sell you new content. There’s new DLC for heroes and missions on the way. And with all the new heroes carrying a bevy of challenges and Challenge Cards, you will want to get in on the fun.
A Square Enix account is not required to play the game, but it is useful for certain features. You get access to the entire campaign and War Zone missions in singleplayer, but no multiplayer action. So if you want to game with friends in all your modes, you all need to link your accounts.
So to get access to all of that, you’re going to need to go through an account linking process. The easiest way to do it is to link another service to the Square servers. You can link the following accounts to your Square Enix account:
- PlayStation Network
- Xbox Live
- Final Fantasy XIV/XI
- Epic
- Steam
- Twitch
- Calico
Here’s how this signup process works:
- Visit this website and log in or create an account.
- Log in and select your profile in the top right corner.
- Select “Linked Accounts.”
- Select “Click here to manage your linked accounts.”
- Choose a platform and log in with your credentials.
The in-game method for verifying accounts works like this, which you need to do to finish the process.
You first need to create your Square Enix account if you don’t have one. Next, you should visit sqex.me/link. From there you log into your newly created account and it should provide you with a 9-digit code to enter in-game. There is also a QR code option. If you’re having trouble finding the code input, here’s how to get to the menu in-game.
Go into the Settings menu, open up the Legal tab, and there should be an option there to link accounts. If you have already connected your account, the option won’t be there or should confirm the link.
If you are having issues with your membership connection, you can go to your account page on the Square Enix website. From there, scroll down until you find the option to manage linked accounts. Those who really want to unlock the full potential of their account can link other services too. You can use these accounts to share gaming stats, friends lists and other features, depending on the platform.
