How to hatch eggs in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

There are many reasons to hatch eggs in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. And if you want the strongest Pokémon, you need high IVs. The math behind IVs is basically just an odds game. The more perfect IVs you have in your parent monsters, the more likely they are to be passed on. The process is tedious for many players, but a bunch of players want to have the fastest and most efficient breeding process they can.

Getting a Ditto with 6 high Individual Values will be the first step you need to engage to breed monsters faster. Ditto can breed with any Pokemon and any gender, with the exception of Legendaries.

You will also want to find the Destiny Knot to help pass on IVs, as it passes on 5 out of 6 IVs from between two parents. You can obtain the Destiny Knot on Route 224, accessed by the blocked area of Victory Road. Give the Knot to your high IV Ditto and leave it at the Pokemon Nursery in Solaceon Town.

The Everstone is the third and final piece of kit you need. This item locks the Nature of a bred Pokémon into the parent. You can get the Everstone either by trading a Medicham for the Haunter found in SNowpoint City, which is the easiest way. There’s also the RNG=dependent method of digging for it via the Grand Underground. There are some reports that Wild Geodude can also hold it, but this has a very small chance of working. Go with the first two methods.

How to hatch eggs in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl quick

Just like any other games, you just need to complete steps. And many of the old tricks hatchers use still work. Flame Body will half the number of steps needed to hatch an egg. This will be a huge help when trying to quickly hatch eggs in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Fire-type Pokémon like Magmar, Charmander and Ponyta all have a chance to get Flame Body. Their evolution chain can also have it. Just the Flame Body Pokémon in your party with five eggs and get on your bike.

And since you left your breeding pair at the Pokemon Nursery in Solaceon Town, grab your bike it’s time to ride. There’s a vertical path on Route 210 in Solaceon Town that’s perfect for this. Just ride north-south on this route and keep doing it. Eventually, your eggs will hatch. When the first batch hatch, go grab some more and repeat.

You can then trade away the mons you don’t want. You will need NSO (Nintendo Switch Online) to access this stuff. Good news though, you can just go with the basic variant. You don’t need the NSO Expansion Pack to access online in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

And if you’re more of the collector type of Trainer, there’s good news for you too. Nintendo has confirmed upcoming Home support for both the new remakes. That means you can get into the storage expansion offered by Home and store all those Eggs you’re going to be hoarding. It’s a great help, and can’t really be beaten at $16 or so a year.
