How to grow tomatoes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

One of the biggest new additions is the inclusion of cooking in the game. You can cook meals for you and your villagers now, it’s great. Each recipe uses a few new ingredients, added in the patch. The player needs to visit Harv’s island to buy the new plant starts. You then need to grow the crops to maturity to use them. One of the new crops is tomatoes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

How to grow tomatoes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The tomatoes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons cost 280 bells each. You need to visit Leif in the main plaza of your village to find them. You can get plant starts for many different seasonal flowers, fruits and more. Each week, Leif visits with a new stock of seeds and starts. Once you have your tomato starters in hand, you need to prepare a space to plant them.

Plant the tomatoes and water them once each day. After 3-4 days, you should be able to harvest 3 tomatoes from the plant. Keep watering them after harvesting to get more. Every few days, you can get at least one tomato from each plant.

This is just the beginning of new plant items in ACNH. The 2.0.0 update has added a whole mess of cooking recipes and the ingredients to make them. And with all of that, comes farming items as well. Vines can be found on Mystery Islands and used as decoration. You have so many other items to mess around with, as well, like the furniture customization. The 2.0.0 update has so many things to do, feel free to explore and find out what’s in store.
