How to get the White Mask in Elden Ring

Elden Ring

As you level up and get stronger in Elden Ring, there are going to be enemies that you have trouble with. And to deal with that, you need better gear. There are many weapons in the game to choose from, what you go with depends on your build. If you’re trying to make a specific build, sometimes it helps to have the right items.

The White Mask in Elden Ring is pretty useful if you’re after Hemorrhage builds, as the buff it offers is super useful for those. Once triggered, the mask increases attack power by 10% for 20 seconds, provided the player has inflicted a Hemorrhage on the enemy in that time.

But first, a word of warning, killing Mohg, Lord of Blood will lock the player out of obtaining the White Mask. You need to claim one of these before doing that if you plan to progress the relevant story bits. Now, onto the details.

The first step toward obtaining the White Mask is to reach Mohgwyn Palace, and there are a couple of options for getting here. You could use the Pureblood Knight’s Medal to teleport there directly, although that has extra steps involved. You will need to finish White-Mask Varre’s questline to claim that item, and that’s kind of hard. This area lies to the east of the mausoleum and to the west of the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace.

Another option is to instead head for a waygate in the Consecrated Snowfield, an area that is accessed with Elden Ring’s Haligtree Secret Medallion. Head for the center of the zone, towards the giant chasm that bisects the river. The waygate can be found, covered in blood, on the west side of the chasm.

This area is filled with blood, but not too dangerous if you come prepared. Bring plenty of physical damage mitigation and bleed resistance if you have it. Being at least level 100 or higher is a good idea, as the enemies here have a ton of health and hit very hard.

When getting nearby to the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum, you will get your first invasion from the White Mask-wearing NPCs. A total of three Nameless White Mask invaders exist throughout the game, and your encounter with them can be encountered here.

If you’re playing and enjoying the game, good for you! You might have questions though, so we have some guides to help you out. When making a character, picking the right class is important. Figure out how to level up your character once you’re in the game. From there, you might want to learn how to upgrade gear, or maybe how to find powerful weapons, like the Meteorite Staff. Or perhaps you’re a melee player and want that shiny new Rivers of Blood katana to hack away with? If you’re dealing with a lot of Undead, try grabbing the Golden Epitaph. Another great talisman is the Erdtree’s Favor. Get the Mimic Tear Summon for a powerful ally. The Ronin Armor can be good for hefty builds.
