How to get the summer seasonal bamboo grass in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The new seasonal update is live in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The new Summer content is alive and well and brings with it a ton of new stuff to explore.

The summer seasonal bamboo grass is a new variety of the bamboo that has been in the game for a while now, with the original having been added to the game at launch. Now Nintendo has added a new season variety complete with a floral motif and some nice accents. If you’re looking for a more lively garden, this could be the ticket.

But now there’s a new seasonal variant for the Summer event that is only part of the game for a short time. You can see what it looks like in the image below. Now if you want to get this, you’re going to have to do a little work. So how do you get the summer seasonal bamboo grass in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

The summer seasonal bamboo grass can only be obtained from the Nook Stop inside your Resident Services building for 3,080 Bells. It will be listed under the Seasonal tab. From there you can buy as many as you like. The special bamboo will only be live until July 31, as it was added to celebrate Tanabata. Tanabata is also a Japanese holiday known as the Star festival, and it has been a thing in older Animal Crossing titles. Seeing the commemoration happen in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will certainly be a treat for veteran fans.

As for the other content added in the Summer update Wave 1, there’s a lot here. The patch is adding diving and swimming, but that’s not all. Along with all the new stuff, there’s also a large population of deep-sea creatures coming to your island as well. And when you’re out hunting sea creatures, try stopping by with Pascal and see if you can get any of the Mermaid DIY Recipes from them.
