How to get the red lightsaber in Jedi: Fallen Order

The unofficial nerd Christmas that is Star Wars Day, May the 4th, is live today. With it comes various acknowledgments of the legendary science-fiction franchise. Various games are looking to push out their own little nods to Lucas’ work, withe in-game events themed around Star Wars or featuring characters from the iconic work of fiction.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is one such game, having pushed out an entirely free update to all owners of the adventure game today to make the unofficial holiday. The free content includes various new game modes and cosmetics, which will help extend the life of this already excellent game. There are two new game modes, Battle Grid and Combat Challenges, both of which push the player to their limit as a Jedi with challenging boss fights and other encounters. There’s even a special Inquisitor outfit for Cal, and of course, the red lightsaber in Jedi: Fallen Order.

You can swap out the lightsaber crystal colors and the outfit choices for Cal at any time once you’re in this mode. To unlock the New Journey+ mode and all the new features, like the Battle Grid, you need to play through the game at least once. It does not matter what difficulty you beat the game on that first time, just that you complete the story.

From here, simply select the New Journey+ option on the main menu when starting a new game. Keep in mind that you have to play on New Journey+ mode to access these exclusive pieces of content. This means that the red lightsaber in Jedi: Fallen Order, as well as all the other new content, can only be unlocked in this mode.
