How to get the Lava Charm in Terraria

How to get the Lava Charm in Terraria

With all of the different rare and powerful items in Terraria, there’s a lot of fun stuff to find. Some of these items are easier to find; some of them require a lot more work to unlock. One such item is the rather important crafting item, the Lava Charm in Terraria. You will use this item to craft various powerful items, like the Lava Waders and Molten Charm, and then use those to move into the more dangerous areas.

You can find the Lava Charm in Terraria deeper into the Cavern layers of the map. This part of the game shifts to a layout of confusing tunnels made up of brown and black stone, so when you see that shift you know you’re in the right place.

You will need to venture around this area until you find lava, it’s on these leaves that you find the treasure chests which will contain the item you want. It’s a very rare drop though. Both of the components have a 2.5 percent chance of dropping the charm you need. The Lava Waders and Molten Charm, when combined together, allow you to be submerged in lava for seven seconds. That’s per item by the way. So if you have both the Waders and Charm equipped that timer jumps up to 14 seconds.

To unlock these two pieces of gear, you need to take the Lava Charm to the Goblin Tinkerer NPC. This helpful buddy will be unlocked after you defeat the Goblin Army, and he will change items into other things.

Obsidian Water Walking Boots are also a core component of this recipe. You need these for the Lava Waders. The Lava Charm uses the Obsidian Skull as a second component. The Obsidian Skull can be crafted at a furnace with 20 Obsidian. You actually need two of these Skulls, as you need to combine another Skull with the Water Walking Boots for the former recipe.

The Journey’s End update in version 1.4 added a ton of new recipes and endgame content to Terraria. So go out and explore this brave new world.
