How to get the Ebon Flintlock pistol and Obsidian fishing rod in Sea of Thieves

Rare is partnering with Twitch to give away the Ebon Flintlock pistol and the Obsidian fishing rod in Sea of Thieves. Both of these items are coming out at the same time and will be available to all players who go through a few steps. You don’t even have to log into the game to claim these unique cosmetics.

Previously, you could only get the Ebon Flintlock pistol as part of a login rewards campaign in 2018 and 2019. Now, Rare has enabled the special weapon as a reward for being part of the community. The new in-game event is being pushed out to the game to celebrate the Leap Year weekend, and now players can earn both the Ebon Flintlock pistol and the Obsidian fishing rod. Here’s how to get both of these items.

The returning weapon and gear bundle can be earned really easily. You need to tune in to one of the Rare-verified Twitch streamers for 30 minutes at any time from Feb. 29 to March 2.  You have 24 hours to grab the Ebon Flintlock pistol and the Obsidian fishing rod. So hop on now once it gets going. Once you have viewed the streams for the allotted time, the Twitch system should credit your Sea of Thieves account with the two items.

As Rare puts it, “There’s nothing a pirate on the Sea of Thieves likes more than free loot – and now, thanks to Twitch Drops, you can claim some just by linking your Twitch account to your Sea of Thieves account and tuning in to our special events!” It looks like Rare and Twitch could be doing this thing more often so why not link up your Twitch account now and save the time later.

Keep in mind that these items are non-affecting in regards to gameplay, so they won’t give you an edge in combat, they’re purely cosmetic.
