The new Sidearm is the seasonal weapon for Season of the Splicer, which makes it very easy to get your hands on. There are a couple of ways to get it. For one thing, you can get the gun when you hit level 35 of the Season Pass. Although those who buy into the premium version get the gun for free. That’s cool, and a great way to entice people to buy-in. You can get the Season Pass for 1,000 Silver.
The reality is that most players will try to grind it out. This will take some work, and some patience, but you need to gather up Ascendant Shards. But really, just play the game and you will be fine.
What is Cryosthesia 77K in Destiny 2
Like many of the seasonal weapons, this new sidearm will bring some fixed perks and a new unique ability. The perks are fixed, but offer a nice few boosts to use in various game modes. Here are the perks of the new firearm.
- Polygonal Rifling (Barrel): Buffs Stability
- Particle Repeater (Battery): Buffs Stability
- Liquid Cooling (Trait): Allows for a Charged Shot after scoring a Final Blow.
- Polymer Grip (Grip): Buffs Handling
- LN2 Burst: (Trigger) – Hold to fire a Charged Shot when Liquid Cooling is active. Freezes those that it hits.
LN2 Burst is the unique ability attached to this gun. This special intrinsic perk is a big part of what makes this weapon. When players hit a Final Blow on an enemy, they trigger a Liquid Cooling stack. That stack then enables a special Charged Shot. The Charged Shot will allow players to freeze the targets they hit.
You can make the whole thing even more fun by killing your target with Cryosthesia. This will once again trigger the LN2 Burst state and allow you to keep chaining the freeze effect. Great for clearing out monsters in PvE. There are also Stasis-related objectives and other quests that deal with inflicting status effects. Using this sidearm for those can help wrap them up much quicker.
