How to get the Chroma Rush Auto Rifle in Destiny 2

The Chroma Rush is an Auto Rifle that has been brought into the game with the new Season. Season of the Splicer adds a bunch of other new features as well, like Armor Transmog, which adds a ton of QoL features to the game. This new content also gets some new weapon options to fool around with. This new rile has plenty of range and accuracy to throw shots downrange, and it can handle plenty of targets. With a 720 RPM rating, you won’t have any problems spraying lead into your foes.

In this guide, we will show you where to get the Chroma Rush, as well as the stats and perk choices.

How to get the Chroma Rush Auto Rifle

The Chroma Rush can be obtained from Umbral Engrams, which are a pretty standard drop within the game. Destiny 2 players should be well familiar with the mechanism by now, but in case you’re not, here’s how it works. The Umbral Engrams drop during any in-game activity and are a completion reward. So if you’re running Strikes to farm Synthcord, you could get some. You then take your newly acquired Emgrams to HELM and focus them to get the drops from them.

To do this with the new drops, you first need to complete Beneath the Great Machine. Once that’s done, you’re ready to focus. Focusing an Engram will give you the choice of turning it into a variety of forms. Each form will have a specific drop table associated. For the Chroma Rush Auto Rifle, players will need to turn the Umbral Engram into a Splicer Armory Engram. When you do this process, the drop table will allow you to unlock the new weapon.

You will need to bring a cache of Decrypted Data to focus Engrams this season, so you need to farm that. Players will need 25 Decrypted Data to focus their normal Umbral Engram into a Splicer Armory Engram.

How to get Decrypted Data

You can earn Data by completing the weekly seasonal challenges. Getting to Season Pass Ranks of 2, 12, and 32, will also reward some Data. The Override activity is another option.

To access Override, you need to farm Ether by playing the game, then go into the Quests tab and use the Splicer Gauntlet to turn that into a  Key Code. Go into Override once you have a  Key Code and you can open the Conflux Chest at the end of the run. There’s a small chance some Decrypted Data will drop.

Chroma Rush Auto Rifle Potential Perks

The perk choices for the Chroma rifle are pretty varied. There’s plenty of options here for both PvE and PvP. The medium range of the rifle at base stats will hurt in when trying to pick off foes in both modes though. With a good typical PvP setup to boost accuracy and increase DPS, you can do pretty well.

Perk 1: Corkscrew Rifling, Arrowhead Brake, Chambered Compensator, Extended Barrel, Fluted Barrel, Full Bore, Hammer-Forged Rifling, Polygonal Rifling, Smallbore

Perk 2: Accurized Rounds, Steady Rounds, Appended Mag, Tactical Mag, Extended Mag, Flared Magwell, Alloy Magazine

Perk 3: Heating Up, Moving Target, Feeding Frenzy, Tunnel Vision, Dynamic Sway Reduction, Subsistence

Perk 4: Thresh, Wellspring, Rampage, Adrenaline Junkie, Tap the Trigger, Kill Clip

Chroma Rush PVP God Roll

Corkscrew Rifling is great for a general-purpose perk. You can also run Arrowhead Brake if you want. Either one is just fine for either setup. Keep in Flared Magwelll or Accurized Rounds, depending on your preference for range or up-close fighting. Rampage is always a good choice as it will just keep you killing. Rampage could also be swapped out for Kill Clip if you prefer. If running Kill Clip, aim for Dynamic Sway Reduction or Tunnel Vision to keep rounds on target. When running Rampage, it’s probably best to go with Feeding Frenzy.  Heating Up is a viable option as well, as long as you’re not trying to lone wolf.

This setup means that this auto rifle is pretty insane for PvP. You can keep blasting foes at range or get in their face, depending on your setup. With the right reload perk you can just keep firing too.

Chroma Rush PVE God Roll

Corkscrew Rifling is great for a general-purpose perk. You can also run Arrowhead Brake if you want. Either one is just fine for either setup. Rampage is a must for PvE in this gun. Tactical Mag is a great choice too. You could also just keep in Accurized Rounds if you want to as well. Subsistence is a great choice here to keep the fire poured on.
