How to get the Botanist Mod in Warframe

How to get the Botanist Mod in Warframe

The Botanist Mod in Warframe is something new added in Heart of Deimos, adding a new way for players to gather Standing from scanning plants in the game. Finding these hidden items is a challenge onto itself, but this item makes it much easier to gather them automatically. You normally need to use Codex Scanner charges to scan items found, although the Simaris Scanner negates this part. Once you have the Oxylus Sentinel, you can combine it with the Botanist Mod in Warframe to have it scan automatically. As you level up the Mod, you also increase its range and reduce scan time. You do need line of sight for the mod to work though, it can’t work through walls.

You can purchase the mod from Simaris for 75,000 Simaris Standing, but that’s going to take some work. That’s a lot of Standing, so things will need to be worked on if you want to get the mod.

To get this rather useful mod, you need to take on a few other tasks. You first need to unlock the right level of standing with Cephalon Simaris. This is the Standing you earn both by scanning plants, as well as completing the specific Cephalon Simaris Daily Bounties.

How to get Simaris Standing

Gaining more Standing requires you to take trips to any active Relay and talking to Simaris. This will begin a quest chain that will see the player scanning specific targets. After you complete the required scanning target, you will randomly get more scanning targets at the beginning of some missions. Each time you will have to hunt down a target and scan them multiple times while they flee. You can use your Codex Scanner, Simaris Scanner, of Helios and Helios Prime. When you find the target, you will notice that there are multiple blue nodes on their body, scan each one and the target will disappear. And yes, like any other Standing, you can only earn so much each day. You will notice that the popup will show when you claim Standing that shows how much you have earned that day.

So now that you have the mod, you might need the Setinel to equip it to, here’s how to get it.

How to get the Oxylus Sentinel

You can purchase the blueprint for the Oxylus Sentinel from The Business in Fortuna for 20,000 Standing, although you will need the Old Mate Rank before it will unlock.  You can earn Standing for this Syndicate by performing Bounties, who can be found near the doors that lead out into the open-world area. Most of the items can be earned through mining.
