With the launch of Season of Discovery, Niantic is kicking their flagship mobile game into Summer overdrive. There’s a ton of events coming in June. Players can expect the same type of events for the most case that are like many other events. And yes, that means more Raids as well as there are special events and spawns incoming. The 2021 iteration of Pokémon Go Fest also joins in on the fun.
Giovanni’s Shadow Zapdos and various shiny forms also got in on the fun this week. But the real focus is on Regirock, Regice, and Registeel coming in as Raids. Regirock Raid Hour goes from 6 to 7 PM Local Time on June 2. During that time, you will find the first of the three spawning in various raids. Tere will also be Raid Hour events on Wednesdays until June 17th that may feature this creature. So check in then if you miss it.
Being a Raid, there will be multiple moves and types of moves to worry about. Here’s the six moves that Regirock in Pokémon Go will make use of:
- Rock Throw (Rock)
- Rock Smash (Fighting)
- Lock-On (Normal)
- Stone Edge (Rock)
- Focus Blast (Fighting)
- Zap Cannon (Electric)
You will really want to bring a team that has something that’s strong against Rock-Type, meaning that Fighting-type is a good choice for this run. Steel-type is another good option, you have a few problems with that choice though. The biggest issue with using Steel is the Electric-type weakness that has this one at disadvantage. Ground also has the same problem with the Rock moves. Fighting is at worst neutral in damage against Regirock’s moves Run any solid Fighting-type you have but don’t be afraid to back it up with Steel to avoid that Fighting weakness. Grass types aren’t weak against anything that Regirock can dish out, so are a good backup. The kicker is that you need to have plenty of HP and some very high-DPS Grass moves to come out on top.
