How to get Pirate Items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The items in the new Summer update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons are extremely varied, and really cool too. And with the Summer update, there’s tons of stuff to do. The patch is adding diving and swimming, but that’s not all. Along with all the new stuff, there’s also a large population of deep-sea creatures coming to your island as well. And when you’re out hunting sea creatures, try stopping by with Pascal and see if you can get any of the Mermaid DIY Recipes from them.
But another batch of items takes the nautical theme to a more scruffy direction. Pirate-themed items have been added to the game as well. Along with Pascal the otter, another new NPC has been added in the form of Pirate Gulliver. And yes, Gulliver has new DIY Recipes to work with.
The strange thing is, there are actually two forms of Gulliver. There’s the sailor version donning blue and white, and the more obvious pirate variant. Your island can only support one version at a time, so having Pirate Gulliver means sailor Gulliver won’t show up. And you also have to go through some steps to unlock Pirate Gulliver. Mainly you must dig up the bits of his broken phone from the beach on your island. Once the phone is reconstituted, you can then progress to the point where you can meet him.
Just check in with him each day to see what item or recipe he gives you.
