Wild West being a very much shooter-focused game, there are a lot of guns you’re going to be messing around with. Devolver loves their weird games, so the title is pretty fitting too. Your adventures in the various wastes and deserts of the new setting shooting through various encounters are tons of fun. The dark fantasy tones and humor blended with western ideals is a great fusion. But sometimes, times are tough. Players may have to scavenge for ammo if they run out. To help with that, this guide comes to the rescue. There are a few ways to get ammo in Weird West, and this guide will explain them all.
How to Get More Ammo in Weird West
Here are the three most common methods you will use to get more ammo in the game.
- Scrap any unneeded weapons
- Loot ammo from bodies and containers
- Purchase it from vendors
The first method is pretty useful in the beginning of the game. You’re going to get a lot of different items that you don’t need. You will get a bunch of different items that you can’t use of white rarity. Yes, this game uses traditional RPG rarity colors. When in your inventory, press “G” to scrap al of the low-quality weaponry you have after marking them. Sharpst Quick Iron revolvers, Quill & Medley Spiritstouch Revolvers, Stubbs Double-Barrel Shotguns and many more will be fairly common in the opening areas. AS you get past these zones, you will want to swap to better stuff, that means scrapping your old junk. This will give you ammo for these weapon types, it’s a great way to avoid wasting guns.
Also, remember to search through everything in a given zone. You will find mountains of loot in your time with the game. Containers and bodies of enemies often contain loot, and you can take it as you please. Search everything, sometimes you won’t find anything, but you never know unless you try. You could find new weapons, healing items and more. And of course, there’s often ammo hidden in stashes around each map.
Selling to merchants is another viable option to get rid of your guns. You can also buy new guns and gear here as well. The best thing to use vendors in the game for is to buy ammo. When you’re out looting hang on to some of the rarer stuff you might find, that can easily be sold for cash. Use that cash to buy ammo when you need it. Don’t be afraid to stock up and grab more than you think you might need. There’s nothing worse than running out of ammo in the middle of a firefight.
