How to get into Redd’s boat in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons April 23 Patch

The newest 1.2.0 patch for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a biggun. The new Nature Day event is just the beginning too. The new NPCs, Lief and Redd, add their own flair to your island paradise. Lief is all about gardening and has become a source for all manner of plants on your islands. Redd will show up with a different set of items and challenges though.

Trouble is, getting Redd to spawn on the island and getting access to Redd’s boat in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a bit of a problem. The first thing you need to do is visit Blathers and let him tell you about adding an art gallery to your new museum. As you do more and more to expand the infrastructure of your island, you will eventually unlock the option to expand your art collection too. Gather up plenty of fossils, fish and other items, and when Blather brings up the expansion, Redd will show up 24 hours later.

He will spawn on the north side of your island. From that day on, you will see his boat nearby, trouble is, Redd may not spawn by his boat. Once you hunt him down though, head over and struck up a conversation to see what he’s brought in. You can usually find him around the front of your Residents Center, and when you speak to him, he will offer up his first stock of art.

Each time he spawns, he will have four pieces to choose from. You can only buy one of the four art pieces displayed, so choose wisely. Pick your art piece and turn it over to Blathers. After a short wait, the piece will turn up in your museum.

Be careful though, Redd is a crafty one. Redd’s boat in Animal Crossing: New Horizons may bring treasures and goodies, but it has a chance of being loaded with frauds too. There’s a chance for at least one, if not all four art pieces, in each load to be fake.
