How to get Ikelos_SG_v1.0.2 in Destiny 2 – Best Rolls

Destiny 2 Ikelos SG Guide

The Ikelos_SG_v1.0.2 Shotgun used to be a beast of a weapon in Destiny 2, taking a ton of use in some very high-profile moments. The gun was used very well during The Last Wish raid World’s First race, which this weapon was at its peak during. The developer have since nerfed it and some useful perks a fair bit, bringing it down in terms of power. The gun is now must useful in PvE situations where you need burst damage against bosses. As a main weapon it’s not as useful against normal mob packs. While it’s not the best shotgun in the game, it remains a solid choice for some players. Here’s how to get the Ikelos_SG_v1.0.2 in Destiny 2.

How to get Ikelos_SG_v1.0.2 in Destiny 2

The Ikelos Shotgun is a pretty straightforward gun to get. You really want to farm Kell Echo in the new Prophecy Dungeon. This map has a chest at the end that has the best chance of dropping the shotgun. You won’t be getting any new Pinnacle drops though, so bear that in mind. It’s not an especially hard fight, but there is a trick to making farming go faster.

If you have another character active and loaded into a checkpoint on the mission, especially one near the end of the dungeon, you can join that character and skip the activity each time with another character. This way you can have two pops at the chest when you’re done.

Be aware that the Prophecy dungeon is going away next season. Once Beyond Light begins on November 10, the Ikelos weapons and other gear will be removed and vaulted along with the content that drops them. If you don’t want to have to wait for them to hopefully come back in the future, now is the best time to grind.

What rolls are best for it?

  • Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Tactical Mag
  • Feeding Frenzy or Lead From Gold
  • Rampage or Trench Barrel

The Ikelos_SG_v1.0.2 isn’t a great choice for PvP. There are just other better options out there. If you want to play more PvP, something like First in, Last out is more fitting. Crucible is a very competitive mode, and not having the optimal weapons can make it hard to enjoy. If you don’t want to use a different weapon, aim for getting the Moving Target and Elemental Capacitor on your PvP variant. Increased movement speed and target acquisition  while ADS is great for PvP. The Elemental Capacitor is absolutely needed as well.

The Ikelos SG did get nerfed in previous patches, as this gun used to be a monster. There were likely only a few anti-boss weapons that could top it at one time. It will still burn through bosses and regular mobs with the right perk rolls though. Xenophage or Falling Guillotine for that excellent boost to burst DPS are a must-have for hard targets. Hammer-Forged Rifling is a very much-required perk for shotguns thanks to the range boost. Tactical Mag just makes it easier to apply DPS with better reload speed and accuracy, and more rounder per magazine.

For your top-end perks, you have a few options. Feeding Frenzy continues to be a very ideal choice for pretty much any weapon. Feeding Frenzy does pair really well with Rampage to boost DPS. This combo makes the Ikelos SG great for taking down any higher-tier enemies you will come across. Trench Barrel is an option, but the nerf to it a while back made its damage boost much less prevalent.
