Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel

Gems in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel are one of the currencies you use in the game for certain mechanics. Being a card game focused on replayability and the competitive market for the game, there’s a lot to learn. There are actually two primary uses for gems, and they are both pretty important. The game is very much taking cues from the mobile gaming market, so there are a lot of mechanics designed to encourage a constant playstyle.

How to Spend Gems in Yu Gi Oh Master Duel

The most obvious thing you spend Gems in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel on, are Packs. Each Pack costs 100 Gems.

There are 8 cards in each pack. The reason you might want to buy these is that they have set drop pools. If you’re after a certain card, Packs are the best way to get it, aside from crafting it directly. The Pack system also has a mechanic, called Secrets. When you obtain a card from one of the two highest rarities, you can purchase a ‘Secret Pack,’ which increases your odds of getting cards from that Archetype. These packs are only available for a short period of time.

Yu Gi Oh Master Duel Structure Decks

You can also buy other items with Gems. Each of these pre-made Yu Gi Oh Master Duel Structure Decks costs 500 Gems. There are presently just two Structure Decks in the game, and as previously stated, you are limited to purchasing three per account. The decks are a set bundle of 45 cards that are not randomized. But if you’re just starting out, they’re not a bad buy.

Yu Gi Oh Master Duel Accessories

The other thing you can spend Gems are is called Duel Accessories. You can have little mascots called Mates that sit in the corner of the duel field, and react to how you play. These little cosmetics can be pretty cool if you’re into that kind of cute thing. Each one costs 300 Gems. Another profile item is called Icons, which can accent your profile in matches. You can also buy Protectors that change the backs of your cards for 100 Gems per each style. The most expensive item, at 600 Gems, are called Duel Fields. How to get Gems in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel

There are a few ways to get these. The simplest way to get Gems is by playing Ranked Duels and completing offline Solo missions. There are various types of missions, but the ones that are best are the Lifetime and Limited-Time Missions. These get their own listing on the menu, so they’re pretty easy to spot. Complete these whenever you see them, as they offer great rewards, including Gems. Gems can also be purchased with real money. But really, you should just try to enjoy the game, not immediately spend money on it. Card games like this are best when you spend time building up your collection and learning the meta.

The veteran and dedicated players might also want to invest in the Duel Pass, a 600 Gem “Battle Pass” that unlocks premium rewards and quests as you play. Each one only lasts for the roughly two months of each season, and can be purchased repeatedly.

Another currency you will make a lot of use of is the Craft Points. Along with Gems, these are the ways you’re going to grow your collection. And since there are more than 10,000 cards to fool around with and build decks out of, there’s a lot of collecting to do.
