How to Get Clay in V Rising

V Rising

V Rising puts far more emphasis on survival than a more action-oriented vamp game. Surviving against the many enemies is going to be tough. Blood is the core of your survival. You will need blood to continue fighting and growing your power. As you grow that shiny new castle, there are a lot of things you need to build. Being a vampire is a hugely cool thing, popular fiction has had a really big impact here. V Rising is a crafting-focused game, of course, there’s farming too. And when night falls, you have a free hand to hunt.

As you expand that gothic castle, you will unlock more interesting recipes. And if you want to go for a more aesthetic theme, you need a lot of materials to build those items. That dark and moody nest of fangs isn’t going to build itself. One thing you actually need a lot more than you think isn’t that easy to find. Clay in V Rising can be pretty hard to find, keep reading to figure out where to get more of it.

How to Get Clay in V Rising

Clay is a farmable resource you can get pretty early in the game. Like many other resources, it can be found in Bandit Camps pretty reliably. The locked chests and random crates often have various resources in them, so smash those after clearing out your foes. Be sure to check back every few days to grab more, when the camps respawn.

Another way of getting it is by sending Servants on trips to collect & harvest resources. The servants are much better uses for this, as you can spend your time farming bosses for more valuable resources instead.

If you want to cheat your way to success, V Rising Console Commands can help here as well. Using the give command, you can simply spawn stacks of any item into your inventory.

What is clay used for?

Clay is a pretty common item in decorative crafting in V Rising. If you want to adorn your castle with statues and other decorative items, you need clay in spades. Gargoyle statues and other decorations need Stone Bodies to make, and you need clay in V Rising for those.

There are two primary items you need to use clay for, and they can be very important for later upgrades to your base. You need a good amount of stone and water to make these items. It’s a good idea to build a few Grinders in your base to get a nice supply of Stone Dust and other crafting materials. You will also want to build a few Wells when you’ve got that recipe to have a steady supply of water.

  • Stone Body: 12 Clay & 4 Stone Bricks

Be sure to check out our other guides on scrolls, and other materials like fish oil. Other upgrades like Whetstones are pretty useful as well. Other aspects of the game can help with your journey, like farming in V Rising and growing stuff from seeds. Seeds harvested from bosses can be used to grow unique items for crating intriguing new armor. Some of the best armor in the game is the Dark Silver gear, which is super powerful. And since you’re trying to get more powerful gear, leather can be helpful as well.
