As part of the ongoing Solstice events in Destiny 2, there’s some new stuff to do in addition to all of the other grinding. Players got their hands on new quests to take on, including a whole new suite of bosses to fight for EAZ Chests. There are even new Bounties and other mechanics to goof around with. One bounty, Expect Resistance sees players trying to collect captured Arc Energy in Destiny 2.
This ties into another new mechanic, Empowerment. Empowerment is a temporary buff that generates as you collect Orbs from fallen enemies when using the proper weapon types. The Empowerment buff is based on collecting various Elemental Orbs. You need to collect 30 orbs to get an elemental buff. There are three types of Empowerment:
- Arc Empowerment
- Void Empowerment
- Solar Empowerment
To get the right kind of Empowerment, you need to check your weapons for the correct icon. Each weapon and subclass in the event has a certain damage icon attached. The coloration of the icons for that subclass determines what kind of damage is involved. Arc is Blue, Orange is Solar, and Purple is Void. Each of these damage types also ties into Bounties within the event. The Expect Resistance bounty asks that we collect captured Arc energy from defeated Fallen combatants, that means you need a blue subclass.
You will also get certain buffs for each Empowerment type, and here’s how to collect each Orb type, straight from Bungie:
- Equip your Arc subclass and weapons to generate Arc orbs. Then, collect them to wield their Arc elemental power. While empowered, Guardians move with enhanced speed and deal greater melee and Sword damage.
- Equip your Solar subclass and weapons to generate Solar orbs. Then, collect them to wield their Solar elemental power. While empowered, Guardians emit a burning wave of energy that damages anything around them.
- Equip your Void subclass and weapons to generate Void orbs. Then, collect them to wield their Void elemental power. Crouch while empowered to become invisible and gain Truesight plus enhanced ability regeneration.
The captured Arc Energy in Destiny 2 for the bounty is collected from random drops via Fallen enemies. You will want to head to the Trostland in the EDZ, this place has a constant stream of low-level Fallen enemies to farm. This will be a very easy task once you get going. You will just need to kill enough Fallen enemies to collect the right amount of captured Arc Energy in Destiny 2.
You don’t need to use Arc abilities or weapons to get the Arc Energy here, nor will you need to use Supers or other abilities, just keep killing.
