To unlock the Box Link feature, you’ll first have to earn the Coal Badge by defeating Oreburgh City’s gym leader. When you head out of that city, head back to Jubilife, there you will find Professor Rowan and Dawn being attacked by two Team Galactic Grunts. Take them down in the ensuing battle to move on. Then, a new NPC, Bebe, will show up and hand you the Box Link.
To use it, bring up the menu with the “X” button, select “Pokémon,” and then hit “R” while on the Pokémon screen to bring up the PC boxes system. If you’re hunting for Shiny variants, this can be very useful. When Home gets added soon, there will be plenty of ways to better manage the horde of monsters you’re going to have.
