How to get Biotic Filter materials in Warframe

How to get Medjay Predasite Tag in Warframe

Biotic Filter is one of those strange resources in Warframe that you need to go fishing for it, yes really. You need them to build the Bonewidow Necramech in Warframe.  There are a lot of these kinds of resources in the game, so use this guide to figure out what you need to do to make it. While you’re here you might want to check out some of the other guides we have for Heart of Deimos. There are some new resources like Thaumic Distillate to find. There are also new mechanics like the strange Reactive Crystal that you can make use of.

How to get Biotic Filter

Biotic Filters can be obtained by filleting Duroid and Aquapulmo (both from the Cambion Drift) at Daughter in the Necralisk. This means you’re going to need to head to the Cambion Drift to find the fish. Since they’re both found in the area, you can head to either open or cave areas to find the fish that drop Biotic Filter.

You can also get these resources randomly from Requiem Pylons, although the drops are very unpredictable. This means it’s better to focus on fishing for farming these resources, and to focus on one particular fish. Check out the rest of the guide below for details on that.

Fish Bait, Fass and Vome

Fass and Vome are two giant wyrms that duel in the skies above the planet. The winning Wyrm will cast the loser down to the surface and their body shall impact the landscape, which will alter the landscape based on who wins. Glowing residue will be found on the ground all over the map, in big chunky piles. Pick it up and then you can craft it into processed bait for the type of Wyrm. Some fish are only attracted to one type of processed bait. You will find the residue during each of the opposing cycles, so Fass Residue is found during a Vome cycle, for example.

How to catch each fish

There are two fish that drop the Biotic Filters.

Aquapulmo

The Aquapulmo is a rare fish that can be found in surface bodies of water during the Vome cycle. You will want to find the right bait. You will need to toss Processed Fass Residue into the water on the surface to force the fish to spawn. It’s a rare spawn though, so it won’t show up each time.

Aquapulmo gives 1 Biotic Filter for each fish fileted, regardless of size.

Duroid

Duroid is a fish found in cave bodies of water during both the Foss and Vome cycles. This makes it much easier to farm, although you will still need Vome Residue. Toss that into the water to get the Duroid to spawn. Duroid is an uncommon spawn, making it a better thing to target farm when trying to get these resources.

Duroid gives 2 Biotic Filter for each fish fileted, regardless of size.

The best way to speed up farming is to bring a Smeeta Kavat. The Charm ability for the Smeeta Kavat will trigger more resource drops from fishing and mining. You can also use a Resource Booster, especially if you’re farming the Rare variant of these two fish.
