How to get Anomaly Shards in Warframe

How to get Anomaly Shards in Warframe

These Shards are actually pretty useful, as they can be traded to a certain friend of yours for some interesting items. Trouble is, they’re kind of hard to get. You can only acquire the Shards in Veil Proxima, aboard the Sentient Anomaly. Anomaly Shards can be traded to Little Duck in Fortuna once you get them.

Anomalies are completed by killing 20 Sentient enemies aboard the anomaly, and each completion awards one shard. Specifically, you can trade them for a few different cosmetic items, like the ones listed below.

  • Tenebrous Ephemera – 15
  • Anomaly Captura scenes – 10

How to get to the Veil

Getting to these missions is no simple task though. You need to first progress through the Star Chart, then work through the grind of building your Railjack. That in itself is a lot of work, so don’t expect to be able to jump to Vail Proxima on day one. The Railjack nodes function similarly to the basic Star Chart with players having to clear nodes on each planet before moving to the next planet.

Earth Proxima is up first, followed by Saturn Proxima. Once these two are knocked out you will unlock the higher-level Veil Proxima. Keep in mind that once you have the ability you can jump into a Railjack mission with a friend who has one if you want to skip the grind of building it yourself.

How to find the Sentient Anomaly

The Sentient Anomaly is actually a unique class of enemy known as the Murex. This powerful force is yet another element of the ongoing threat of the Sentients, you will learn more about them as time goes on. These AI beasts are a major player in the Warframe universe, and having to take them on isn’t a cakewalk.

The Murex will occupy a random node within the Veil map segment for 30 minutes. This node will be marked with a unique marker and have Murex notifications on it, so you will know it when you see it.

The actual target once you’re in the mission is the randomly placed Sentient ship. You need to enter that ship and begin killing Sentient enemies. You will need to take down 20 of them to earn the reward you’re after. Keep in mind that the Anomaly Shard is credited to all members of the Squad when the task is complete, so not everyone needs to go onto the Murex.
