You can now catch Minccino in Pokémon GO to celebrate the year of the rat, the Lunar New Year event. However, Minccino has fewer chances of you encountering them, unlike other Pokémon featured in the event. You now have the opportunity to find it close to the end of things on February 2nd from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in your local time through Limited Research tasks. There is also another way to capture Minccino and eventually evolve it into a Cinccino.
Supposedly, until February 2nd you shouldn’t see Minccino when the Limited Research tasks begin in your area. You will want to make sure you are ready for them. February 2nd is a Sunday, and it happens from only 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in your local area. So, you need to give time during the afternoon to devote to these tasks. They should be awarding you a chance to encounter a Minccino.
After the event, Minccino will become available through five-kilometer eggs. You have a chance of hatching a Minccino in Pokémon GO if you have a five-kilometer egg, adding another to your Pokémon collection. However, there’s a roster of other Pokémon also available in this egg, but the event increases your chances. Once the Lunar New Year event is over, Minccino will become widely available in the egg for everyone to potentially hatch.
You are going to need an Unova Stone when you are ready to evolve your Minccino into a Cinccino. Using this stone is the only method to evolve it. These stones can be earned by completing your seventh day Field Research task, by defeating one of the many Team GO Rocket Leaders, or by defeating Giovanni.
Following this event in five-kilometer eggs, Minccino is coming to the main roster of Pokémon in Pokémon GO. If you want to get your hands on this particular Pokémon, make sure to have your incubators ready and go after these eggs as much as possible.
