How to Get Algae in The Planet Crafter

The Planet Crafter: How to Get Algae

Planet Crafter is a game all about terraforming a planet. You must balance the atmospheric and environmental development of a planet with the needs of a newfound colony. Not only do you need a mountain of raw materials, but you also have to have a bunch of basic building blocks of life. You also have to make sure you have enough food and water to survive the harsh reality of the new planet. Once you have that in place, you’re well on your way to surviving and thriving. Beyond that, there’s so much more to worry about though.

From food and water supplies, you must then collect metals and other materials, like Aluminum. The basics metals form a building block for your bases and structures, but there’s even more beyond that. If you haven’t figured it out yet, this game is pretty complex.

How to Get Algae in The Planet Crafter

Algae is required to craft a lot of items and structures and you’re going to need a bunch of it. The most common use for Algae is to power biomass, itself used in many different items. You can unlock Biomass by progressing terraforming to the Liquid Water stage. You will then need to build a Biolab to get access to various items through recipes, including for farming and biomass generation.

Algae Generators will be key in getting this vital resource. These special infrastructure items take in oxygen, water and a few other resources to make algae automatically. It’s a good idea to eventually upgrade to Algae Generators T2, as they are much more efficient. These can be built with the following resources:

  • 2 Bioplastic Nugget
  • 1 Fertilizer
  • 1 Water Bottle
  • 1 Magnesium
  • 2 Super Alloy

Once you build it, place it near water and it should start spawning in that nearby body of water. You can then gather it for your own uses.

And that’s all you need to know about the basics of Algae in The Planet Crafter.
