The Super Rocket Radar is a special item that reveals all of the Pokéstops in range. Players will want this if they’re trying to find Team GO Rocket bases in these stops. One thing to remember is that the use of these items is restricted. The Super Rocket Radar only works on PokéStops between 6 A.M. to 10 P.M., local time. That is meant to make it harder for players to farm the Giovanni spawns. So what can this thing do, and how do you get it?
Any Pokéstops scanned with the item appear as invaded PokéStop occupied by Giovanni. However, upon interacting with the PokéStop, some of them may reveal to be guarded a Decoy Grunt instead, and this is a much easier fight.
if you had the Super variant equipped when interacting with those random Team GO Rocket balloons, Giovanni will show up. But let’s go back to the normal circumstances. Players will then be able to battle the decoy Grunt and try and win. If they win they will get a Mysterious Component, just like usual.
The Super Rocket Radar is rewarded for completing Special Research or Timed Research tasks associated with Giovanni. Each time the Rocket boss shows up, there will likely be a new batch of quests for him.
So here’s the thing, there doesn’t seem to be a time when Giovanni will come back in 2021. During the buildup to Season of Mischief, The developers Niantic announced that there would be no Giovanni-related events for the foreseeable future. So that’s sad news to know, but things like this happen sometimes.
