Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Crown Tundra expansion has a bunch of new main and side tasks to complete. Another side quest involves getting to prove yourself as a dependable Trainer for claiming Fwoofy. The main story itself is all centered around the Dynamax Adventures, which center on taking on Legendary Raids. There’s also a side quest that centers on this too. This quest involves you collecting Pokémon footprints for Sonia as she wants to hunt Legendaries.
Sonia makes a surprise appearance back in the DLC, once again taking up a new research task. She wants you to take on this task with her. You will find her outside the main town of Freezington in the Crown Tundra area. A set of footprints will spawn outside, once you engage with them, Sonis pops up and explains what’s going on.
She wants you to find more of these to find some lost Legendary Pokémon. The Legendary Pokémon you’re after are the Swords of Justice Pokémon, Cobalion, Virizon, and Terrakion.
The process works like this: Go to the location, look for the Pokémon footprints around the zone. They aren’t set spawns, so you just have to hunt them down and look for the sparkles that are similar to that of item sparkles. Once you interact with them, you’ll increase the amount of evidence that you need to gather. Hit 100% evidence by collecting the tracks over time. In total, there are 150 footsteps for players to find in The Crown Tundra. Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion have 50 footprints each.
There are three Pokémon you need to hunt down for Sonia. It’s all very similar to the Diglett hunting from Isle of Armor. You need to head to three locations for each of the Pokémon. Be sure to make use of fast travel points and the like to move around quickly.
