V Rising being a crafting-focused game, of course there’s farming too. You may be a powerful vampire trying to expand their territory, but you can’t do everything on your own. You need to recruit Servants to take care of missions for you. Players also need to hunt down rare and common resources for crafting, such as Gem stones and dust, or maybe Sulfur. That all is just the early game though, there’s so much more.
The game also features a robust weapon and gear system. As you and your followers gain more interesting gear, their skills improve. You can build up your fortress and take on all challenges in your immortal quest for more blood. Blood is the lifeforce of a vampire after all. As you increase your influence over the world, you will also have to take down various rivals. That’s the primary reason why you need better gear. And the worst thing in the world is to let the most powerful gear rot away. That’s where Whetstones in V Rising come in.
Whetstones are also used in a few crafting recipes. You will need them for the incredibly powerful Dark Silver ingots, for one. Whetstones are important resources in V Rising and are required early in the game. During this point in the game, you need them to maintain your weapons. This means you need to go out and hunt for them.
How to Find Whetstones in V Rising
When you’re first starting out, the process of finding them is entirely random. Until you get to the point where you can beat the correct boss, you can’t craft them at all—so you need to hunt for them. Uncover the map a bit by exploring the area, ideally in your wolf form. Various yellow marked zones will then be displayed on the map. These are bandit camps, mines and other interesting spawns in the game world. Rip apart the foes found in these areas and loot the chests within. This will give you plenty of whetstones and other starter gear.
How to Craft Whetstones in V Rising
Like all other recipes in the game, you need to beat a certain V Boss to unlock the recipe for Whetstones in V Rising. Grayson the Armorer is a level 27 V Boss, and you need to defeat them to unlock this recipe. Like all other bosses, you can hunt them down via the Blood Altar in your base. Go there and see what’s up with Grayson the Armorer.
You will then need a Furnace to actually make Whetstones, this can be built with 480 stones and 60 copper ore. From there, you need 12 stone dust and 1 copper ingot to make the stone. That’s it, you’re done!
Other aspects of the game can help with your journey, like farming in V Rising and growing stuff from seeds. Seeds harvested from bosses can be used to grow unique items for crating intriguing new armor.
