How to Grow Nether Wart in Minecraft

Ancient Debris and Netherite in Minecraft have been added to the game since the 1.16 update, along with a major expansion in the variety of locales found in the Nether. If you have an old world and haven’t updated it in a while, you will need to reset the Nether before this stuff will spawn. Once you’re ready to go adventuring, follow this guide to find these items.

How to Find Netherite

Netherite items are more powerful and durable than diamond, can float in lava, and cannot burn, thus making it incredibly desirable for players. It’s rather hard to find, as it’s exclusive to certain blocks in the Nether. You need to smelt a certain amount of Ancient Debris to make Netherite Scrap. That then needs to be further refined into fully Netherite.

To make the Netherite ingot, you must combine 4 netherite scraps and 4 gold ingots. You can then use the ingot for crafting and upgrades. Keep reading to figure out how to get the Ancient Debris.

How to Find Ancient Debris

To mine the Debris, you need either a Diamond or Netherite Pickaxe. Mining Netherack, where the veins spawn, with any other tool will not yield the raw mineral. Ancient Debris can only currently be found in the Nether, so you will need to create a Nether Portal first. Once that’s done, you need to venture into the hellish zone and find the right biome.

So basically, just start digging.

You may also find it in Bastion Remnants as part of treasure chests. The various chests in these zones often have a small chance to spawn 1-2 ancient debris.
