How to farm Impossible Heat in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 - Dawning 2021

The holidays have invaded Destiny 2. And it turns out that many NPCs have a sweet tooth. You need to take on an event quest to make holiday treats for many different folks, all across the system. After you have hit up the NPC Eva Levante for your mission in the Tower, you’re kind of left to your own devices. The Dawning 2021 recipes aren’t going to make themselves, so you need to get moving. Here’s some help with finding a particular ingredient.

How to farm Impossible Heat in Destiny 2

You can only receive Impossible Heat if you take out a foe using Solar damage. This is probably one of the more annoying elements of the recipes for Dawning 2021 because of that. Solar damage is also unique to a certain set of sub-class abilities in Destiny, so it’s kind of hard to get used to if you haven’t played it before. The Sunbreaker, Gunslinger and Dawnblade classes all have abilities for this.

The other option you have is any weapon that deals Solar damage. Energy and Power Weapons can deal Solar damage. The key is to use mods that either augment solar damage or to shoot enemies with Solar Shields. Destroying shields with a Solar weapon or ability causes an explosion that damages enemies in a certain radius near the target. Fallen, Hive, Cabal and Taken can all have Shields of this kind, usualy it’s the Elites and bosses that do.

Public Events and Lost Sectors are the best option here. You should be able to slap on the right gear and go to town.

Impossible Heat in Destiny 2 is used in two recipes for Dawning 2021, that we know of. The first recipe is the Infinite Forest Cake. That uses Vex Milk in addition to the aforementioned Heat. You need to take this cake to Failsafe at Exodus Black on Nessus. And finally, take the Ill-Fortunte Cookies to Petra Venj. You can find her in the Dreaming City, on the west side of Rheasilvia. You will need Dark Ether Cane for those.
