How to Drop the Flag in Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite has exploded onto the scene. Capture the Flag and its variation One Flag CTF are one of the many modes in the game. These modes involve capturing flags and returning them to bases for points. Teams with the most points when a round. Usually, the game lasts at least three rounds. As players play in these modes, one thing becomes apparent. Players like to shoot the flag holder. And if that’s you, the impetus is on you to drop the flag to stay alive.

The thing to remember about new FPS games like this is new players aren’t always in the know. So learning how to do this is important.

So let’s get into this, as you need to learn a few things. The game has many different controls. Learning them is key to learning how to play the game. If you want to drop the flag, you just need to push one button. You just simply hit the Weapon Swap button. Here are the buttons for an Xbox controller, as most of you will be playing there.

Since the flag in the game is technically a weapon, you need to swap weapons to drop it. Just press the Y button on Xbox to drop the flag. And if you’re on PC, you can press V by default to swap weapons. Swapping weapons will cause you to drop the flag, or the bomb, depending on the game mode. Doing so has one immediate effect, you speed up, as the flag applies a movespeed penalty.

So why would you want to drop the flag in Halo Infinite? There’s a good reason for that. When you’re getting shot at, you might want to avoid that. Some players will use a trick known as the “flag juggle”, which allows players to simply grab and drop the flag repeatedly. This will technically move you faster than just carrying the flag normally. This trick has been around in FPS games for years, and Halo players do it all the time.
