How to Disable Copyrighted Music in Cyberpunk 2077

Everything you need to know about vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077

If you’re a streamer and you plan to play Cyberpunk 2077,  there are some things you should know. The game is riddled with musical tracks, many of which are copyrighted. And thanks to the DMCA kerfuffle engulfing Twitch right now, a lot of streamers are concerned about strikes over the music. Luckily, there is a way to disable copyrighted music in Cyberpunk 2077.

The game features a wide array of genres, so if you don’t mind the music, you’re in for a great many treats. However, if you’re on YouTube or Twitch, you will need to worry about it, as you don’t to have your video demonitized or channels hit with a strike over it. CDPR understands and has included a way to disable copyrighted music while playing.

So here’s how to handle the problem, mostly.

Scroll to the bottom of the Sound portion of the Options menu, and look for the Misc. tab. Under that, you should see ” Disable Copyrighted Music”. Toggle that to on and the game will take care of the rest. But it seems that’s not all you need to do, as the game has a bug in the Braindance sequences causing the music to still play. According to reports, some streamers have still received copyright claims on their content with the toggle on.

CDPR has said that the best way to avoid the issue is to outright mute all music from the game with the audio options. To do that, open the Sound menu again and turn the Music volume down to zero.
