You might not think it, but challenges are pretty important in Fortnite. With all of the other quests and hidden locations, there’s a lot to find in this game. There are also some old mechanics making a comeback. Epic has also introduced many different challenges as tie-ins for various properties. The Gears of War challenge is one of these. To unlock the special skins in this week, you need to finish off some specific challenges.
How to damage an opponent with a melee attack in Fortnite Chapter 3 – Gears of War Challenge
One of the harder challenges for this Gears of War series is to melee an opponent to death. You will have a very hard time completing this challenge if you just rush up to an enemy. Trying to not get shot is key here. As soon as you land, locate a nearby player and try to sneak up on them. It’s a good idea to pay attention to the sound effects on the screen. This will help you be able to sneak around. You need to then take out your harvester and start smacking them when you get close. It’s the best thing to do when you sneak up on two players attacking each other, and rush in for the kill.
There are two other parts to this challenge. You need to deal damage and take an opponent out with a shotgun. You also need to crouch behind a barrier marked with the COG logo. Completing these three challenges will be easy to get some skins and other rewards.
So get out there and complete some challenges. In fact, this week has a ton of stuff to do. These mysterious devices can be hard to find, and kick off a quest chain. You then need to visit a giant statue, then destroy some signal jammers. There’s a lot to do in Chapter 3. And then, of course, there are the weekly challenges.
