A Viking longship tells the story of the journey that the clan that crews it, where they’ve been, what they’ve done. The longship in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is just as important. You will need to upgrade a bunch of elements of the ship as part of the game. Expect to take on tougher tasks as you go on, so be on top of your ship upgrades, here’s how.
When you upgrade the settlement of Raventhorpe to level two, this will unlock a bunch of different upgrades. Each one requires raw materials and other items to unlock. The following upgrades are unlocked at tier two of the Settlement: Bakery, Brewery, Fishing Hut, Hunter’s Hut, Museum, Shipyard and Tattoo Shop.
600 Supplies and 45 Raw Materials are needed to reach this level of settlement.
What the Shipyard does
Ship parts and appearances can be customized allowing for the player to make their ship their own, and to improve its stats. When you add the shipyard to your town, speak to the owner, Gudrun, to begin customizing the ship. You can boost the defenses and speed of the longship in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with multiple options for each element of the ship.
You will be able to modify these sections of your longship at the shipyard.

- Shields
- Figurehead
- Tailpiece
There are at least two types of upgrades for each category, the Raven Clan and Wanderlust versions. Players can take a look at the stat impacts of each one in the Shipyard menu. Each upgrade is locked behind certain quests or other requirements. You can check which upgrade needs what tasks in the Shipyard menu as well. You can find more customization options hidden all over Valhalla as well. Some can also be bought from vendors.
