How to craft a Campfire in Icarus

Icarus

Icarus is a new survival game that occupies a similar genre space to the likes of ARK: Survival Evolved. You get plopped onto a remote location and have to survive. You need to build shelter, find food and more. And speaking of finding food, you need to have a way to cook food to make it safe to eat. Yes, this survival game is that serious. The most basic form of this is the Campfire in Icarus.

It’s a good idea to build a shelter first. This will help unlock some basic research stuff as well. One of the first things you should research is the Campfire under the research tab. Press P to open the research tree and focus on that technology. As the first available cooking station, the campfire is an essential early structure that allows prospectors to cook Raw Meat or Raw Fish. This is probably one of the first things you want to build.

You should gather as many of these items as you can carry, as they are also helpful for your basic shelter. It’s a good idea to have the shelter and basic thatch structures researched ASAP. Press O to bring up the crafting menu, and then build the Campfire once you have the items you need. Once you have built it, it’s placed in your hotbar like other items. Then, you can place it and begin cooking.
