How to catch the Miyama Stag in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The Miyama Stag in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is added as another new option for players to catch as part of their bug-hunting endeavors. This particular species first appeared in previous games like New Leaf, and it’s now part of the Switch game too. It’s a limited-time spawn, so get on it if you want to add this sinister beetle to your collection.

Those players in the Northern hemisphere can get the Miyama Stag in Animal Crossing for a limited time. You can find it to either sell it off to Tommy and Timmy for a quick infusion of Bells. Many players will instead choose to trade it in to Blathers to have it put in the museum on their island.

The Miyama Stag in Animal Crossing will spawn like many other bugs, nearby to trees is the first place to look. As you’re looking around, focus on the tree stumps like you would with any other bug. The Miyama Stag is a brown beetle with large pincers, you can’t miss it. When you see it, advance on it slowly. You might scare it off if you try to approach unless you move slowly and only holding down the A button to inch forward. Have your Net ready to go to ensure the best chance of a successful capture.

As for what time this bug spawns, it’s pretty simple. The Miyama Stag is available for you to find at all times of the day. You don’t have to alarm clock your way to hunting this bug down. The one restriction you do have is having to wait until the time of the year when it’s able to spawn. You can of course time travel to get around that.
