How to catch Elgyem during Enigma Week in Pokémon Go

Staryu and Elgyem are spotlighted in Pokemon Go Enigma Week.

Elgyem is a Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V. The strange creature has now made its way to Niantic’s Pokémon Go. And with the weekly events surrounding the game’s recent festival, there’s a new opportunity to capture the elusive monster. The Dragon week is still ongoing, but will soon end on August 7 at precisely 1 pm PT.

And then we’re getting into the next Ultra Unlock Week, Enigma Week. Elgyem and its evolution Beheeyem will make their Pokémon Go debuts during Enigma week. This is the next phase after the Global Challenges stemming from Pokémon Go Fest 2020 were completed, so get ready for some new tasks to complete.

The official Niantic blog doesn’t mention timed research tasks for Enigma Week, so it’s kind of unclear what’s coming in next. It’s likely that the various spotlighted Pokémon will have extra encounters tied to these tasks.

Engima Week will also have Unown, Deoxys, and more making debuts in the mobile game as well. You may also encounter Staryu, Jigglypuff, Clefairy, Lunatone, Solrock, Baltoy, and Bronzor. You can spawn any of these, including Elgyem in the wild or from 7-kilometer eggs. The spawns will be quite varied and common as a result.

You will be able to get the following spawns from 7km Eggs: Cleffa, Igglybuff, Lunatone, Solrock and Elgyem. Raids will see Bronzong, Claydol, Elgyem and the Unown letters U, L, T, R, and A. And of course, some of these will be shiny too, if you get lucky.

Elgyem is useful for fighting against Fighting or Poison-type Pokémon, thanks to its type advantage. It’s a solid pick for Great League play as well, once you evolve it. Beheeyem has a maximum CP of 2,753, an attack of 221, an defense of 163, and a stamina of 181.

Enigma Week will end on August 14, where it will then be followed by another week of themed spawns.
