How to breed an Axolotl in Minecraft

Minecraft is a game all about living in a digital world. As the game has developed, many creatures have come to call your worlds home. Axolotls in Minecraft are among the newest creatures added to the game. Axolotls are like many other creatures in the game, and can reproduce. And just like the likes of Sheep and Cows, it’s very easy. Here are the steps you need to take to breed an Axolotl in Minecraft.

These little aquatic friends are pretty particular, and need water to survive. So when you find some and plan to breed them, you need a pool of water for them to reside in. Axolotls can climb upward a distance of one block, so be sure to plan accordingly and fence them in.

When you feed two or more of the creatures in close proximity, they spawn a new baby. Each time one spawns, you get a chance of it spawning in one of five colors: Lucy, Wild, Gold, Cyan, and Blue

What do you need to breed an Axolotl in Minecraft?

You need a food source as well, just like any other animal in the game. These little critters need Buckets of Tropical Fish to eat. And yes, you need two of the Axolotl to breed one more. Once you have a small pool that’s at least one block of water deep, by 3 blocks on all sides, it’s time to get your new friends settled and fed.

You need to gather and feed the pairs of Axolotl Buckets of Tropical Fish to get them to procreate. Once you feed them enough, they will spawn a baby. And just like other animals, hearts will erupt from the Axolotl after being fed.

Wondering where to get the Buckets of Tropical Fish? These items can be purchased from the oceanside traders for easy access, assuming you get lucky and find one. You can also head out into the water with a bucket of that water. When you’re swimming underwater you can approach any fish and right-click on them. Doing this will give you a bucket of fish that you can use as food.
