How the Music Box in Phasmophobia works

How to use a Crucifix in Phasmophobia

Sometimes, ghost-hunting can get a little stale. Once you learn the patterns of each ghost, it becomes a lot easier to dodge them and complete an investigation in Phasmophobia. The game has become a little too predictable at this point. With Phasmophobia’s Cursed Possessions update, that’s all changed. One of the newest items, the Music Box in Phasmophobia, is key to controlling unruly ghosts.

How the Music Box in Phasmophobia works

Since multiple of these items center on directing and controlling the ghost, you need to know how to use them. When you find the Music Box inside the house, you can place it down and play it. The Music Box will activate and play a little tune. This tune can draw in nearby ghosts. This has two uses; either to track a ghost, or by paralyzing them. The ghost will focus on the box and start mimicking the tune.

The key with this is to not get too close. If players get too close to the ghost or the box while the ghost is in trance, it will snap out of it. Timing the use of the Music Box or the Summoning Circle will be clutch for getting away from a hostile ghost. You want to be careful when using the music box.

It’s a very bad idea to not ask your team before using it. Triggering these things at the wrong time could lead to your team being caught out of position. Let other players get setup first, then ask if they want to keep the ghost in place. There’s one more thing to remind you of. Similar to the other cursed possessions in Phasmophobia, the music box does drain your sanity while you’re using it.
