How much are the storage expansions in Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0

How to unlock and build fences in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

After all these months, your Animal Crossing island is probably loaded down with stuff. If you’re a digital packrat like me, you like having tons of crafting materials and decorations. I use up a ton of space on seasonal decorations that I roll out for Halloween and Christmas, for example. And the limited storage on the Homes is kind of irritating. With the new 2.0.0 update, ACNH has added some much-needed relief for this problem.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘ 2.0 update has dropped a full 2 days early, as Nintendo let Christmas come early. There are so many little things to learn about this new update. You can start cooking your own meals, even growing your own food. New decoration options like accent walls add more options for interiors. There’s just so much to talk about. The 2.0.0 update to ACNH also includes a bunch of new crafting too.

Tom Nook has once again enabled mayors of islands to expand their homes once again. Players won’t be able to add new rooms or anything, but you can get more stuff in that internal inventory with a new upgrade. The one downside is that it’s very pricey.

And to manage all of this mess, you’re going to need to invest a lot of Bells. Not only do you need 700K to get the Harv’s island shops up and running, but you need these new storage expansions in Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 to handle all the new items you’re going to buy.

to get the storage upgrades, you first must have a finished home with all other upgrades unlocked. Then, you need to head to Tom Nook in Resident Services. Ask him about by picking the option for “About my home…” and then “Expand my storage.” These two will prompt the game to confirm that you want the final expansion. This 500,000 Bells investment will expand Home Storage to 2,400 items or stacks. That is quite a lot from the current maximum of 1,600 from the fully upgraded home in pre-2.0 ANCH.

These specialized home upgrades must be paid for upfront, There’s no Nook loan for this stuff. So you either have the 500,000 Bells, or you’re out of luck.
